We really enjoyed the aquarium. Embarrassed to say we have many more pics we could have posted. You get the idea how magnificent this aquarium is.
Next we moved on to the wildlife museum. It is located next door to the aquarium.

Again, this is just a few of the pictures we took. Beautiful depictions of animal life.
The next day we shopped at the Bass Pro Shops. It's the same as here, but much larger and more selections. We then drove to the Table Rock area and checked in at the Big Cedar Lodge. We drove around and checked out the area. It's a beautiful vacation spot for families. Here are some pics of our lodge and the area. |
The next day we went to Dogwood Canyon Nature Park. This was a beautiful day. This site includes a mill, museum, tree house, nature center, hiking trails, and a restaurant. We opted for the two hour wildlife tram tour. Easy shady going with beautiful sites. Here's just a few of our pics.
After the tour and exploring the rest of the nature center, we had dinner on the patio across from a beautiful waterfall. The next day we went to the Top of the Rock Lost Canyon Cave and Nature Trail. We started our tour in a golf cart. The property included a paved two-and-a-half mile trail to follow. The scenery was jaw dropping. There did seem to be plenty of construction going on along the trail to improve the viewing and photo opportunities.

After the beautiful golf cart tour, we went to the museum. There were lots of native artifacts. Never seen so many arrowheads.
After the museum we relaxed and looked forward to a leisurely dinner at the Osage Restaurant. We celebrated our thirty-eighth anniversary by the scenic window with a bottle of wine and a great dinner. (We've been celebrating since January.)
The last full day we spent driving the area and stopping at scenic points and the marina. We entertained ourselves by feeding the carp and turtles. Then we sat on a bench overlooking a beautiful cove and watched the boats come and go. That afternoon we spent at the salt water pool just floating and digesting in the shade. We had another great dinner on the property. We headed home the next day. It was so great to restart our memories about how beautiful it is in God's country, Missouri. We still like Kansas a lot and have great sites from there as well. For now it's home sweet home.
